Favorite snacks

By crochetedlittlething

I know that I started a journey of eating healthier and exercising everyday, but still, I have few weakness and I'd love to introduce my friends to it!
Ready? Set....GO!

First on the list: Chocolate Cheerios

I've never been a fan of cheerios, I usually prefer granola cereals, but when they came up with the chocolate ones??? Well, I had to try them and I loved them ever since.

Even better tho, the Dulce de Leche Cheerios: a hint of caramel and infinite goodness!!!

Kellogg's cereal also nailed when they came up with the Chocolate and Double chocolate Krave: like the name says, you will crave them!

Last but no least, chocolate animal crackers......Do I need to say more????

Enjoy these yummies :)

Random bits

By crochetedlittlething

A couple of things that I wanted to share with you, but weren't enough to make a blog post about it, so I thought to combine them here.

First I'd like to invite you all to an auction on Facebook: lots of items for awesome prices, included a couple of items from my shop. Plus, the bidders are entered for a giveaway from Whimsical Wishes that so graciously put the auctions together.
I own a wonderful pair of hoops earrings from Stormy and love them!!

Then I want to thank burunduchok for including me in this Strawberry Treasury on Etsy

Michelle Kindergarten recital

By crochetedlittlething

2 days ago, my little Michelle had her very first school recital, she was a cute little flower.
When the teacher sent the note home for the costume, I immediately went to dig up my very first ballet tutu that I even wore. I thought, it's pink and it will be perfect! And here it is!

Oh yes, ladies and gentlemen. You're looking at a vintage piece as I was 8 when I got to rock this baby.
My daughter is 5 so I was a little bit shocked that I didn't have to retouch it in any way, not even the shoulder straps! Then I remember that this tutu was already resuscitated once, when my little sister was 5.....but I'm digressing.

My daughter loved the costume and even more so after I told that it was mine and I was proud of her having it now (it's not that I can really wear it anymore you know!).
Still, beside to the emotional attachment, I wasn't really satisfied as it didn't look "flower" enough.

That's when mama go shopping for pretty fabric and gets out the sewing machine!!! Of course, Michelle had to like everything too, so off we went and after some running around, some noisy sewing and a lot of trying on, we got the "flower look" I was aiming for.

A petal finish over skirt with sequin fabric and hand sewn flowers on her neckline and the front of the skirt and she looked just darling for her recital

Maybe I should have added sleeves.....what do you think???

Kitchen curtains!!

By crochetedlittlething

Finally here! I worked on my kitchen a little every day during spring break and finally I have it all decorated!

The curtains are made in 3 panels with a valance made out of cupcake fabric matching the pillow covers I got from Sewnfromtheheart a while back and the entire window is covered in black light and sheer knit fabric

Why black, you ask? Well, let's just say that since I don't have a private fence on the back of my house, I caught the neighbor kid picking through the kitchen windows, specially when my kids are doing homework which is appalling and distracting.

The sheer knit material allow us to still see outside, but keep the unwanted lookers out of sight.....(see what I did here??)

We still get plenty of light in the kitchen, plus they offer a wonderful shade in the hot summers. And If I need more light, I made little pulls for them in matching cupcake fabric.

On the other side of the windows I have the back door and I thought this wonderful needle point made especially for me from My1SweetAngel was perfect to decorate it, don't you think?

Now all that was left was to decorate the table, but I didn't have enough material to make a table cloth :/
So, I got thinking and I said to myself: why don't leave the table naked and just decorated it with a table runner?? I think it looks very modern and family was happy about the change.

Still, I have few little fabric scraps and I wonder: what to do, what to do? Experimenting of course! (Up for grabs by the way!)

Messing around in the kitchen

By crochetedlittlething

I know you were hoping to see my brand new cupcake kitchen curtains, but they are not all done yet! Soon tho!

In the meanwhile, I'm having ab last trying out new recipes from Pinterest.
I'm not very good at cooking, I must admit that I'm still learning and experimenting.
Sometimes, the experiments turn out all right, like these self frosted nutella cupcakes

Some other times, I ended up with a burned mess while trying to make brittle in the microwave

And sometimes, even tho I'm very skeptical of my abilities, I end up with something awesome, like this no kneading bread

Then, I start creating my own version of tried recipes like my stuffed pasta shells

or chicken quesadilla

Made you hungry yet??

Blog Awards!

By crochetedlittlething

I got not one, but 2 blog awards recently and as the slob I am, I forgot to blog about them, so let me fix that.

I want to thank Kayla from The Eclectic Element for award them to me and apologize for being soooo late!

The thumbs up from Skunk award

What it's about: It's named 'The thumbs up from Skunk award' since "we all feel like stinky, stinky skunks some days" and there are people who "make us feel (and smell) a lot better".

What I have to do: Name one thing that you love about yourself, then pass on the award to as many bloggers as you want to!

One thing that I love about myself is the ability to always say the truth, no matter how much it hurts or how inappropriate it is.

Kreativ Blogger Award

Rules for this particular award:

1.) Link back to the person who gave it to you {no problemo}

2.) Share 10 random facts about yourself {Hmmmm ok}

1. I'm a perfectionist freat! Never really satisfied about things, sometimes I think my head is going to explode.
2. I'm veeeeeery sensitive, I can cry really easy, so don't raise your voice with me, ok?
3. Would you like to really please me??? That's so easy! Just tell me you were thinking of me and I feel all warm and fuzzy inside :)
4. I work really hard to get what I want and I must say....I always get what I want LOL
5. I will do anything for the people I love (hope nobody needs a kidney just right now!)
6. I must admit, I suffer of low self-esteem.
7. I talk to much, I just like to talk, talk talk talk!!!!
8. I recently stated listing my crochet pattern and some destash on Zibbet
9. I'm a chocolate and cupcake lover (as you didn't know that already!)
10. I'm usually a calm person, but when it comes to my children I can become a tiger.

3.) Pass on the award onto 7 other people {Better get on that!}
1. Etsy Giveaways
2. Indie Discouns
3. Cori of Blue Eyed Blessings
4. Val of Miss Val's Creations
5. Heather of Red Rose Connection
6. Claire Justine
7. Handmade cuties
